Artist Statement by Dustin Ferguson
In a field of snow, stark and silent, a raven named Terry struggles to rise—his wing broken, his body grounded, but his spirit unyielding.
This high-contrast print captures a moment of raw desperation and quiet defiance. Terry is not soaring. He is trying. And in that effort, there is something deeply human—something universal. The will to survive is not a choice. It is instinct. It is nature’s command.
“Terry” is a portrait of resilience in its most vulnerable form. Hope doesn’t always look like flight. Sometimes, it looks like trying again—wings battered, body trembling, heart still beating.
In the bleakest of landscapes, life pushes forward.
